By installing, accessing, or using SmartSnap ("the Extension"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Extension.

• Capturing questions and problems from your screen using OCR technology
• Processing captured text through artificial intelligence

3. Acceptable Use

You May Use SmartSnap To:

You May Not Use SmartSnap To:

• Violate academic integrity policies of your educational institution
• Submit AI-generated content as your own work

• Process copyrighted material without proper authorization
• Harass, abuse, or harm others
• Distribute malware or conduct malicious activities
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code
• Use automated scripts or bots to abuse the service
• Resell or redistribute the Extension or its services

4. User Accounts and Subscriptions

Free Tier

SmartSnap offers a limited free tier with basic functionality. Free tier features may be modified or discontinued at any time.

Premium Subscriptions

• Payment: Premium features require a paid subscription. All fees are stated in USD and are non-refundable except as required by law
• Billing: Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) until cancelled
• Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
• Changes to Pricing: We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers
• Refunds: Refunds are generally not provided except in cases of billing errors or as required by law

Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

5. Intellectual Property

Your Content

You retain ownership of content you capture and process through SmartSnap. By using the Extension, you grant us a limited license to process your captured content solely to provide the service.

AI-Generated Content

Explanations and content generated by SmartSnap's AI are provided for educational purposes. While you may use them for personal learning, you should not represent AI-generated content as your own original work.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

SMARTSNAP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Accuracy, reliability, or correctness of AI-generated explanations
• Uninterrupted or error-free operation
• Freedom from viruses or harmful components
• Suitability for your particular purpose

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SMARTSNAP SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

• Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill
• Academic penalties or consequences from your use of the Extension
• Damages resulting from unauthorized access to your data
• Any damages exceeding the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SmartSnap and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use or misuse of the Extension
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any rights of another party
• Your violation of academic integrity policies

9. Termination

By You

You may stop using SmartSnap at any time by uninstalling the Extension and cancelling any active subscriptions.

By Us

We may suspend or terminate your access to SmartSnap if:

• You violate these Terms
• You engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
• Your account shows signs of abuse or automated usage
• We discontinue the service (with reasonable notice)

Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use SmartSnap immediately ceases. Provisions regarding intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitations of liability survive termination.

11. Changes to Terms
